Day 10 - Connections #DailyGratitude

Oct 10, 2025

A reflection on connection, the small moments, shared stories, and friendships that remind us how simple acts of presence can change everything.

Every weekday morning, Zak goes live on his community, Take Action Daily, to chat with members about the daily word of gratitude and the key question. Enjoy reading today's summary from the live call below.

Today’s word of gratitude was connections, and it couldn’t have been a more fitting way to close out our first full week of morning lives.

Despite a few tired eyes this morning, the reflections that followed were alive with energy, reminders of how connection shapes every part of life. From friendships built here in the community to people met while travelling across Asia, South America, or Africa, it’s often the briefest moments that leave the deepest mark.

🌍 The Power of Shared Moments

What stood out today was how many powerful relationships began with something small, a passing chat, a shared run, or a simple “hi”. Those moments grow into friendships, opportunities, and memories that change our direction without us even realising it.

Connection isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s a quiet message, a walk together, or simply showing up for someone who needs it. As one reflection shared, “Connection doesn’t have to be constant to be meaningful, sometimes it’s just knowing someone’s there.”

💬 Presence Over Proximity

We also spoke about how easy it is to drift through life with our heads down, headphones in, and conversations left unspoken. Travel often reminds us of what openness feels like, that sense of curiosity, presence, and willingness to talk to anyone.

The challenge is bringing that same “traveller energy” home: smiling at a stranger, checking in on a friend, or asking someone how they really are. It’s simple, but it can change everything.

🤝 Meaningful Relationships

Throughout the comments, a shared theme emerged, genuine connection is rare, but it’s what makes life rich. It gives meaning to struggle, turns solitude into support, and reminds us that we’re all walking each other home in one way or another.

Whether it’s reconnecting with old friends, forming new ones through shared purpose, or nurturing the relationships we already have, connection is the thread that holds it all together.

🧭 Reflection Question

What connection, past or present, are you most grateful for right now?

Take a moment to think about it, maybe even reach out to that person today.

Have a great day,
